The Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant III for Treasury. This position will be responsible for all treasury functions as described in detail below.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Aid in implementation of and ongoing compliance with treasury management program, including:
Development and refinement of policy
Training programs
Document retention
Ongoing reporting
Accounting for the daily, monthly, and annual transactions related to cash and investment activities, including debt issuances and refundings. This includes maintenance of Excel workbooks, preparation of journal entries and statistical entries, and associated reconciliations
Prepares routine and ad hoc reports for use by the Treasury Manager, Deputy CFO, CFO, and CEO.
Maintains liquidity in fund balances according to GRDA policies, bond resolution, and GRDA’s expected cash flows. This includes forecasting cash levels and making recommendations to Finance management
Monitors GRDA investments to ensure investments meet GRDA needs and comply with policy
Expected to maintain an awareness of treasury market conditions in order to allow GRDA to mitigate market exposures and capitalize on advantageous opportunities.

Requirements and Essential Skills :
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
Five years' experience in treasury related accounting preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, ASAP Utilities, etc.)
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with outstanding customer service techniques
Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) required
Experience with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Title 18 Chart of Accounts preferred
