Position Summary
This position is responsible for both producing work and managing other accountants in the general accounting function, tax preparation and tax planning with minimal supervision. This person will contact clients to resolve all tax related matters and ensure delivery of timely and accurate tax preparation for small to medium sized companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial positions
  • Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns
  • Manage engagements from start to finish to ensure client satisfaction and expected realization
  • Be self-driven to stay current on regulatory and industry changes and implementation of new standards and technical pronouncements
  • Promote firm services to existing and prospective clients
  • Meet productivity and efficiency standards for billable hours
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Two or more years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
  • Tax preparation experience required; experience with UltraTax a plus
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks required
  • Ability to work with all personnel within the organization and facilitate communication effectively
  • Work in fast paced/changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as experience with accounting software
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Experience with public accounting is preferred
