Job Summary:

The accountant will maintain accounting records for operations located in Hempstead, NY. This position will be a “department of one” at the location. They will have a close partnership with our corporate accounting department, so having effective communication skills is critical.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Complete monthly financial close process, ensuring all proper journal entries are entered.
• Manage the accounts payable and receivable function for the company.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare P&L account variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial statement with accuracy and timeliness.
• Assists in monthly inventory management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial data analysis.
• Experience using QuickBooks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• At least three years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
