Reports to: Executive Director

Salary range: Salary commensurate with experience

Work schedule: Full-time

Location: Central Office located in Yauco, PR. (Remote work may be available as determined by the executive director)

General description for the position:

This position is part of the administrative roles within Protectores de Cuencas Inc. As an Accountant, you will be performing a variety of professional accounting work, which includes managing, allocating, and/or monitoring financial resources in support of the projects managed by the organization.

Duties:

• Works with the Executive Director in providing analyses of the status of funds, cash reports, monthly balance, and other financial reports.
• Verifies the availability of funds and prepares disbursements for each of the organization’s projects.
• Handles monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Prepares and manages balance sheets and accounting transactions.
• Performs quality assurance review of existing and proposed accounting processes to provide assurances as to financial integrity and conformance to Federal, laws and agency regulations and practices.
• Processing tax payments and returns.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of work experience as an Accountant.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures in Puerto Rico.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Pay: From $2,080.00 per month
