We are searching for an Fixed Asset Accountant to work in our Maple Grove headquarters. The Fixed Asset Accountant will perform a variety of accounting and analytical tasks to ensure accurate records and to assist in asset management and decision making related to all aspects of fixed assets, including associated leases, loans, and real estate taxes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 4-year college degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance; or Associate degree with relevant experience
• 2 - 5 years of general accounting experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training
• Fundamental understanding of accounting procedures, techniques, and reporting
• Ability to use software products and tools; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organization skills, numbers aptitude, and oral/written communication – ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Flexible, adaptable, and inventive problem solver with positive attitude
• Ability to work independently; able to self-identify and prioritize work tasks

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with ERP systems and depreciation software
• Exposure to heavy construction equipment and/or real estate
• Desire to continually improve internal processes

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Fixed Asset accounting, analysis and reporting for construction equipment, vehicles, intangibles, and real estate (owned and used in operations, investments, ground leases, contracts for deed, and property leased from others) including associated depreciation, loans, leases, and property taxes and assessments
• Record asset acquisition, disposition, and internal transfer activity – and related liabilities – in ERP system
• Maintain information in depreciation and lease accounting software
• Manage information on lease, loan, and contract for deed liabilities; monitor payment and contract compliance
• Manage real estate tax bills and information – monitor/analyze assessed values and ensure timely tax payments
• Review and analyze investment real estate reports from third-party managers and joint venture partners; book financial activity; identify and report significant variances
• Accrue, bill, and monitor receipt of inbound ground lease and contract for deed interest/principal payments
• Assist Controller in preparing schedules for monthly bank reporting and annual insurance policy renewals: asset listings, locations, and values
• Manage storage of supporting documents and contracts
• Timely and accurately respond to information requests and questions from management and operations personnel
• Prepare internal account reconciliations and schedules/workpapers for external auditors
