Job description

The position is an interim position reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration. Backfilling for the college's controller with support from other college staff members, the position has responsibility for campus finance and auditing needs. It regularly advises campus community members on a broad range of risk and compliance matters. The position serves as the campus internal control and compliance officer and supervises the Purchasing (including Campus Mail, Duplicating & Property Control) and Student Accounts offices. The position often participates in campus planning and regularly works on risk management activities in collaboration with colleagues from across campus. It serves as a key liaison with System Administration and other State internal control officials and departments, including serving as a primary contact with Counsel. It oversees day-to-day Geneseo Foundation finances, as well as financial statement preparation and is directly responsible for accurate preparation of pledges receivable, gain/loss, spending and other journal entries, audits and other compliance work as needed. Hours: The position offers some opportunity for remote work and flexible hours. Ideally, the position will be full time 37.5 hours per week; however, hours less than full time may be considered, depending on candidate qualifications and experience. Weekday schedule to be negotiated with the candidate selected.
