ABOUT THE JOB

Hawkins is looking for an Account Manager to join our Industrial Sales team in the Midwest or Mid-South area. This individual will manage current accounts while developing new prospects to increase sales and profits and will identify opportunities to grow current product lines and add new lines. Focus areas for this Account Manager will include bulk and packaged chemical products for paper mills, food processors, power plants, agricultural and other related industries, as well as consumer-packaged products sold through food service and retail distribution channels.


Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships; provide a high level of service and value.
  • Stay current with competitive activities in the marketplace by gathering information to identify trends, potential risks and opportunities.
  • Grow territory’s profitability through pricing and sales of additional products or quantity of current products being sold.
  • Perform customer needs assessments to cultivate additional business.
  • Provide product and technical information to both sales customers and internal customers.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.
  • Complete monthly reports and market summary for territory and keep manager informed of new sales and competitive developments in the industry.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry or a related field, or equivalent experience (knowledge of the chlor-alkali market is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, verbally and written, with customers, co-workers, team members and management
  • Ability to travel up to 30% regionally
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, coworkers, team members and management to cultivate a high level of trust and reliability
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly responsive
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
