Job purpose

Serves as primary facility resource to ensure a payor source for all residents and that money is collected for all payors, excluding HMO and Medicare. Interfaces between the facility staff and residents/resident families to accomplish objectives. Manages off-shore resources so that timely and accurate billing occurs for all residents.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Oversee off-shore resources to ensure accurate and timely billing

- Review off-shore activity for accuracy and provide direction where needed to prepare, submit and confirm billing for all residents (excluding HMO & Medicare) [Payers may include Medicaid, Managed Care and VA (when applicable), Medicaid MCO co-insurance bills]

- Submit monthly private statements

- Cut monthly refunds to maintain a clean system

- Finalize close of month

- Complete triple check for billing as well as submitting hospice billing (AHS only)

2. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate collection efforts (Veripay updates)

- Provide high quality customer service support to facility residents and their families

- Coordinate weekly meetings with BOM to ensure continuous payor source for every resident

- Coordinate collection of continuous due patient liability

3. Review reports to monitor activity and identify all outstanding balances and actively work to collect them

4. Maintain appropriate documentation in Veripay system to support tracking of efforts

- Proactively follow up on all outstanding balances

- Determine balances that require escalation to collection agency

- Prepare agings to keep supervisor informed of all outstanding balances

5. Verify payor source for all residents to ensure that payment will be forthcoming

- Enter daily census received from facility into Veripay

- Gather and document all relevant New Resident Information in Veripay

- Research all available systems to confirm resident source of payment

- Confirm initial/updated authorizations and co-pays

- Ensure timely submission of levels of care and relevant forms

- Investigate and resolve issues to ensure a continuous and billable payer source

6. Facilitate Medicaid Pending application process

- Obtain asset and income information

- Validate resident eligibility

- Review Medicaid application provided by facility

- Follow through on application process until approval obtained

7. Other duties as assigned

- Possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
