Job Overview

Account Executive representing sponsorship sales efforts for both PBS SoCal and KCET by creating sponsor sales campaigns based on valid business reasons and supporting data. Regularly assesses progress on opportunities to grow revenue among existing accounts and prospects. Uses brand-aligned marketing materials and tools to convey consistent messaging across the organization. Manages sales processes that ultimately results in sponsor’s continued engagement and revenue growth.


Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Seek opportunities to increase existing accounts, prospect for and close new accounts
  • Meet/exceed established monthly quotas and annual sales goals
  • Forecast long-range account sales, inventory levels, and product needs; documents related information via Salesforce (CRM)
  • Log prospecting activities into Salesforce and forecast results via reports and metrics
  • Acts as a public media ambassador, presenting station and stories to potential sponsors in person, via phone and video conferencing channels
  • Performs client needs analysis to determine the best opportunity for potential sponsors
  • Possess and expand a deep understanding of station offerings including on-air, streaming, and digital platforms
  • Work closely with station personnel, and colleagues to ensure delivery of contracted sponsorships solutions
  • Ensures that customers are satisfied with services and well-supported through email communication, in-person, phone and video conferencing
  • Obtains sponsor feedback and continually works to improve products and services
  • Resolves sponsor requests, concerns, and problems working with internal and station colleagues
  • Promotes goodwill and conveys a positive image of station
  • Other duties assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, and two years sales experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of media outside sales experience with a proven track record of revenue growth
  • Proficient in MS Suite, PowerPoint, and Salesforce or other Sales CRM system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; easily develops trusting relationships
  • High curiosity demonstrated by asking questions to learn more
  • Talented problem solver
  • Keen understanding and prior success selling digital media and integrated media campaigns including digital, events and cause marketing initiatives
  • Broad based business acumen with marketing knowledge across several key public media sponsor categories: finance, nonprofit, government, film and the arts
  • Understanding of consumer behavior and a desire to help sponsors solve marketing challenges
