Job Title: Academic Tutor (Elementary, Secondary, Part-Time) Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Reports to: Principal
Dept./School: Assigned Campus
Primary Purpose:
Work part-time at assigned campus. Responsible for the teaching coaching and evaluating assigned students. Collaborate with campus staff to plan for the academic needs of students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Works and relates positively with others.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of general office equipment
Experience:
Teaching and/or tutoring experience desired.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support/Student Management
- Works directly with students at assigned campus, and is responsible for teaching.
- Assesses and services students during the school day.
- Implements learning strategies for fundamental student improvement in math and reading.
- Provides one on one or small group instruction.
- Tracks and charts the progress of students.
- Maintains part-time schedule to meet the needs of assigned students.
- Effectively communicates with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
- Keeps teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Other
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Follows District guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains district materials and equipment assigned.
