POSITION: Full-Time Academic Technology and Data Management Coordinator: Special Programs Coordinator; Library Services; Haverhill Campus; MCCC/MTA Unit Professional Position; 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Pay grade 4

Northern Essex Community College is hiring an Academic Technology and Data Management Coordinator to become an integral part of the library team. This is a public facing, student focused role requiring strong customer service skills, leading a team of students who assist other students with academic technology support. The position will be responsible for compiling library and computer lab data from various sources and managing the library's data analytics initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties for this position include:

Academic Technology

  • Assist students with academic technology related questions in a lab setting within the library.
  • Hire, train, and supervise "student ambassadors" and/or other student employees to directly support students with in-person and remote assistance.
  • Provide in-person, online, phone and email assistance to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Plan and conduct academic technology-focused workshops for students.
  • Utilize document, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation, and other software.
  • Serve as a resource for students and staff working with the Blackboard learning management system and Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications.
  • Assist in the development of policies related to the library computer lab.
  • Maintain inventory of computer lab supplies to insure continuous operation
  • Other duties related to the operation of a computer lab in an academic library setting

Data Management

  • Record and document statistics about the use of computer lab, library facilities and services.
  • Compile and report data from various service points within the library, and assist librarians with data management.
  • Manage the library's data analytics platform LibInsight
  • Prepare regular administrative reports about library trends and outcomes
  • Assist library administrator on annual reporting to IPEDS, ACRL, MCCLPHEI, and other agencies
  • Use independent judgment and work effectively as part of a team and individually.

SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $52,754.00 to $62,775 annually with complete fringe benefit package. Complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system. Transcripts will be required at the time of hire.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must have a BA/BS degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office/Office 365.
  • Strong customer service skills, presentation skills, and a willingness to assist others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience using the Blackboard LMS in an academic setting.
  • Understand and have experience with academic technology and tools such as printers, copiers, scanners, and other information sharing devices.
  • Working knowledge of some iOS-based applications

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.
