Job Profile: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Job purpose:
Responsible for direct 1:1 implementation of individualized skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs in the therapy setting

Credentials:
-High School Diploma
-Valid Driver’s License/access to transportation
-Experience working with children or young adults with special needs
-Experience working with learners with ASD (preferred)-Experience implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
-Experience recording behavior data

Responsibilities:
⁃ Monitor the safety of learners from their arrival at session until their departure (as specified in their behavior plan)
⁃ data collection
⁃ Implementation of all skill acquisition programs
⁃ Implementation of all behavior reduction programs: blocking/redirecting any noncompliant, aggressive, destructive, compulsive, stereotypical, or self-injurious behaviors
⁃ Render daily session notes
⁃ Material preparation/organization
⁃ Assist with self-care routines (e.g. , toileting, wiping, brushing teeth)
⁃ Engage with learners while they are accessing reinforcers (pairing)
⁃ Clean up after session/maintenance
⁃ Communicate with team members regarding matters concerning the learner, sometimes after work hours (e.g., txt)
⁃ Respect the learner’s time and materials (e.g., be on time, stay focused on the learner during session, put materials back where they belong)
⁃ Cancel in advance and offer to make up hours (when possible)
⁃ Participate in staff development opportunities /trainings/meetings, sometimes outside of work hours
⁃ Respond to and report emergencies/injuries as per company policies and procedures
⁃ Report any professional, ethical, or moral concerns to proper channels
Physical Demands:
Must be able to implement all skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs assigned to that learner. Programs may demand the therapist perform activities including (but not limited to): sitting on a small/low chair/floor, standing for extended times, walking, running, lifting, redirecting fine/gross motor programs, redirecting play and exercise routines, hand-over-hand prompting, full physical prompting, modeling appropriate social behaviors, engaging in pretend play, toilet training, wiping, changing diapers, blocking and/or redirecting - noncompliant, aggressive, destructive, and self-injurious behaviors.
Clearances:
Compliance with Federal, State and NJDOE Personnel Code requirements, including but not limited to Mantoux TB test, Criminal History Motor Vehicle Review, Citizenship Status
