As 8D Program Manager you use your experience with operations, safety, investigations, and problem solving tools to ensure that RWE Clean Energy is learning from both our incidents and our normal operations. This position will be responsible for developing and managing an 8D based problem solving process as a part of the EH&S team. This process should start with incoming incident notifications, methodically work toward a widely accepted understanding of the causation of the incident, and end with proper short and long term corrective actions. Follow up and closure of the corrective actions will be tracked and reported to the EH&S executive committee leadership. The Innovation Program Manager will collaborate with stakeholders both internally, externally, as well as teams within RWECE and RWE Globally to consistently apply sustainable practices, systems and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with sites and EH&S operations management to identify needs for investigations or problem solving tools
  • Work with EH&S operations to identify and support a lead investigator and possibly an investigation team for each project.
  • Work with all internal stakeholders to support the investigation process and ensure timely reporting and follow up
  • Manage and publish monthly reports documenting progress toward goals of investigation completion, open and closed actions, and others as developed
  • Support EH&S Group and operations team with the implementation and training for improving investigation processes
  • Benchmark with industry partners and organizations to develop solutions from and for industry problems
  • Support RWECE in the development and implementation of a collaborative 8D investigation process that ultimately aids the organization in learning faster and deeper
  • Serve as subject matter expert for program and policy development in areas of expertise in support of management system improvements.

Qulifications:

  • Required Associates degree ,prefered BA/BS in related field
  • Minimum of 8 years in the Renewables Industry with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a role related to investigation or process improvement.
  • Third party certification in safety, quality, or related topics.
  • Third party trained in at least one incident investigation methodology
  • Experience preparing and presenting reporting to executive audiences
  • Mathematical / statistical knowledge and affinity to work with numbers / statistics regularly
  • Strong self-initiative and self-confidence to find solutions and to solve problems independently
  • Reliable and systematic manner of working as well as customer orientation and resilient in terms of being able to centrally manage different stakeholder expectations
  • Detail-orientation, formal accuracy and striving for high quality results (e.g. in document management and statistics)
  • Strong MS Office skills in creating Checklists, Forms, Tables, Graphs, Presentations quickly and accurate.
  • Strong coordination / collaboration skills with internal and external customers/contractors.
