Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you would be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for poultry feed production plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance using blueprints and diagrams to verify that all equipment is operating within required specifications and tolerances. May perform periodic testing and inspections, troubleshooting and repairs

Responsibilities and Duties

• Under general supervision, repair and perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using blueprint and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications
• Identify root cause of basic mechanical issues and performs repairs by welding, fabricating parts, basic pipefitting or replacing defective component; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is required
• Identify unsafe conditions and corrects; reports to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own
• Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed
• Maintain records of preventative maintenance and repairs
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Welding certification, electrical certification, millwright experience are a plus
• Completion of a multi-craft maintenance program or equivalent experience a plus
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in industrial machine predictive and preventative maintenance or demonstrated applicable mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Previous experience maintaining feed mill/grain handling is a plus
• Intermediate math and computer skills
• Ability to read tape measure, transfer and figure angles
• Ability to operate/use basic hand, power tools, welder (stick, mig, tig ), plasma cutter and acetylene torch set
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate is required
• Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, climbing (ladders and stairs), standing and sitting for long periods of time, heights up to 175’, and able to work in confined spaces.
• Experience with safety equipment such as harnesses and lanyards, hoists, multi gas meter and PPE a plus
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary exam to qualify for occasional respirator use
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours as required
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
