Job Specifications: (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required)
The 21st CCLC Art Specialist supports the 21st CCLC Program enrichment curriculum by providing art specials in a variety of categories, including but not limited to visual arts, dance, music, and performing arts. The 21st CCLC Art Specialist is the lead of a group of 10-20 students in providing art enrichment activities during the UCP CCLC after school days and summer program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging art activities, including creating lesson plans
- Create a classroom culture that encourages group thinking, curiosity, and discovery
- Assist to complete appropriate data collections (i.e., attendance) according to grant requirements
- Assist in the assessment of student progress
- Assist with family engagement activities (including Family Night) as requested and participates in and delivers arts integration professional development to families and staff members
- Assist in creation and implementation of showcases of work
- Assist in implementing art-based field trips
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Education and Training: (or equivalent)
Associate Arts degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum Experience:
- Experience working with students (K-8th grade) - preferably with students with disabilities.
- Classroom management skills
- Strong Art skills - Visual, Performing, Music, and Dance
