Our ideal candidate has had their Class A or B CDL and no longer wants to be out on the road. This position works primarily locally, outside in the loading yard and interacts with other employees and outside customers or vendors coming to our facility.
Merrill Steel’s Outside Forklift Operators transport large heavy steel pieces such as columns, trusses and I-beams onto flatbed trailers for our drivers. It is crucial that the Loaders understand weight distribution and have the ability to pre-plan how loads of steel pieces will fit onto trailers safely so that they will be securely transported across the country.
